forgiveness & healing

We ended our time of sharing with prayer. I asked the brother to start, them my wife and I will end. When they have finished, I knelt before the brother, tap him on the shoulder and told him that I am going to ask him for forgiveness for hurts that I have caused him. It was not planned. I was just obeying the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
We had been edifying one another and sharing about personal journeys and breakthroughs and at that particular point, I was suddenly made aware of his pain that has been trapped and accumulated inside. Who's Right or wrong was not the issue. As an authority figure, being his pastor, I asked him to forgive me. He placed his hand over my shoulder, his eyes red with tears, but a smile on his face, he told me that I am forgiven. As I prayed with choked words for healing, I felt his tears falling on my hand and his assuring hand tapping gently on my shoulder. P.Nellie kept passing us tissues papers -her anointed ministry.
I had told him that he was a good man, a man like Nathaniel, a man without guile, smiling 99% of the time, but I also realized that his pain need to surface and wounds healed. He might be leaving to go to Bible School, and I wanted a new freedom in our relationship. At the end of our praying, I felt a great lightness in the room - a new glow on that smiling face. I think he felt it too. P. Nellie still wiping her eyes.
