Good Friday to ?Saturday before Resurrection Sunday.

Last night we celebrated Good Friday in a combined service with the Chinese and Bahasa congregation with Worship, word, feet washing and an agape feast. The feet washing was awkwardly awesome? Some wash and some just watch. What do you think of it?

This morning on the way to the church office, a thought came to me "Go and visit this brother who is sick and take care of him to relieve the family for an hour or so" How do I know if it is the Holy Spirit or just me? Do you ask such question, sometimes? The tiny conversation began in my brain. [ A tiny conversation in a tiny brain ] [ Are you laughing? Good.]
It wasn't too difficult to decide on the answer.
The thought did not come from the "Me". Because this thought is inconvenience for the "me". This thought brings some discomfort to the "me". This thought makes me fear whether "I" am welcome or not. So, it isn't pleasing to the "me". So the "me" couldn't be giving me this suggestion.
I asked the next question. What would Jesus do? Would Jesus who is love wants to visit this sick person to minister to him. The answer was obvious - of course He would.
So I detour and visited the sick, took care of him for about an hour. Could I have been taking care of Jesus as well for that one hour according to Mt 25:34-40.

Tomorrow is Resurrection Sunday - May the Resurrection Spirit blows and brings forth new births and new life among us and through us.

Some of us may not have the opportunity to do the awesome feet washing but those whom have willingly helped to serve food to others is another way of showing their humbleness. It was great to see members from all 3 departments (English, Chinese & BM) teaming up to serve others - Awesome!

Pastor, your extremely short message yesterday (Easter Sunday) was a good punch to wake our selfish self up! Yes, indeed if Christ has not risen, our Christian walk, our Christian faith will be meaningless. Why do we need to help others when we ourselves need help too? Why spend time with those in need when we need to find time for ourselves and our family? This brought me back to the cross - had our Lord Jesus Christ been selfish, thinking for himself only, He would not have suffered and died for us. Thus if Christ has gone thru so much agony and pain, what is our small effort in purposely making time for others, comparatively - actually, nothing to compare! But one thing I know - this good intention in purposely making time for others and helping those in need will make us feel good and encourage too. It helps our spiritual life to move up to another level of maturity - Awesome!

Amen!
Today, I am trying to remember to give thanks to those who have done acts of servanthood last weekend - Friday - Sunday.
Those who have lovingly prepared food, serve food, brought friends, talk to new ones, clean up, and of course those who have helped others to do feet washing. Awesome yes awesome.
