Bye

Feb 26, 07. We got up at 2.30 am, to get ready to sent Emmanuel to the airport for his 6am flight. Yep, his one month of holiday has come and gone. We had some time to linger..but the inevitable came. I knew it was coming. He is going to be away for at least another year. I will not see his face or feel his existence physically.

WE hugged, Nellie hugged him...he took out his boarding pass to show the officer..more bye-byes,,,we love you, we miss you as he takes the escalator down to the immigration point. I bent over the railings to see him walk through the auto-gate and he was gone. I was feeling what he might be feeling. I was feeling sad, was he? His head was kinda looking down after the escalator. I think he was feeling sad.

As we drove off from KLIA, I called him on the phone just to "hang on with him a little longer". There is so much you can say on the phone without nearing to burst emotionally. Yep,,,I am a softy when it comes to 'goodbyes'. I passed the phone to his mommy.

After about 8 hours, his girlfriend Marlene,text to say that he has arrived safely in Sydney. I am relieved that there is someone waiting for him back in Australia after leaving his family here in Malaysia. I still miss him so much.
